Fariji DT SACCO Society Ltd held its Bi-annual Thanksgiving ceremony at PCEA Gathiru-ini Church in Komothai Ward, Githunguri Sub-county, drawing together members, staff, clergy, and local partners for a day of reflection and celebration. Led by Board Chairman Peter Thuo Kamunya and Chief Executive Officer Francis Ngure Njihia, the event underscored the SACCO’s deep roots in the community and its steady progress in strengthening member-focused financial services.
The ceremony, described by attendees as both solemn and uplifting, offered the cooperative an opportunity to revisit its journey, celebrate its growth, and reaffirm the values that continue to define its work. Speakers highlighted the SACCO’s achievements over recent years, including improved member outreach, product enhancements, and consistent financial stewardship that has helped maintain trust among thousands of members.
Beyond institutional progress, the day carried a strong spiritual tone. Prayers, hymns, and messages of gratitude filled the church as leaders and congregants acknowledged what they called God’s sustaining grace over the SACCO’s mission.
“This gathering reminds us what anchors our work,”
Chairman Kamunya told participants.
“Our unity, our shared faith, and our belief in service keep us moving forward.”
CEO Njihia echoed the sentiment, noting that the event was not simply ceremonial but a reaffirmation of the cooperative’s identity. He said the SACCO’s success is inseparable from the support of its members and partners who continue to invest their confidence in its long-term vision. Staff members described the Thanksgiving as an important moment to reconnect with the community they serve, especially at a time when SACCOs across the country are expanding their role in financial inclusion.
The leadership also extended special appreciation to PCEA Gathiru-ini Church for hosting the event. Church officials welcomed the SACCO warmly, offering the venue and sharing in the spirit of gratitude that defined the day. Organizers said the partnership reflects the mutual respect between the institution and the local community it serves.
As the event concluded, the message from the SACCO leadership was forward-looking. They pledged to uphold excellence, integrity, and member welfare as the pillars of their operations in the months ahead. The ceremony ended with a prayer for guidance and continued growth, capturing what many participants described as a renewed sense of purpose. Fariji DT SACCO emphasized that the spirit of gratitude will continue to guide its work—as both a financial institution and a community anchored in shared values.
